Skin Peel

We are often not happy with the appearance of our skin, and are unsure of the cause and how to treat the issue.

There are two key factors affecting the skin

  • Intrinsic factors – e.g. The natural aging process
  • Extrinsic factors – e.g. external factors that can exacerbate the aging process

Both these factors cause the cellular renewal process to slow down, leading to:

  • A thickening of the top layer of the epidermis, as the dead cells are not so easily shed.
  • A rougher thickened appearance of the skin, resulting in a dull-looking, uneven complexion
  • Reduced elasticity and skin strength

By commencing a chemical peel regime, you will see healthier, younger looking skin.

Dr Zacharia uses Glycolic peels which are chemical peels made from a sugar cane substance called alphahydroxy acid (AHA). This acid exfoliates the skin by enhancing cellular turnover, evens the distribution of pigmentation, refines the appearance of pore size and helps smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Chemical peels can be used on all skin types and are most effective on the face, neck, chest and the hand areas.

Dr Zacharia uses a chemical peel system that can only be performed as an in-office procedure by a trained professional. It provides controlled and predictable removal of surface skin cells, stimulating skin renewal to improve the appearance of the skin. You will notice a difference in your skin texture immediately. The procedure is fast and convenient, taking only about fifteen minutes with virtually no recovery time, you can be back to your normal routine the same day. There is no significant pain or need for anaesthesia.

It generally takes around 4-6 treatments at three to four week intervals to achieve the desired effect
