Renuvion Skin Tightening is a minimally invasive skin tightening procedure that utilises plasma energy which is a surgical procedure performed by a doctor. It combines helium plasma and radio-frequency (RF) energy to heat the tissues directly beneath the skin and stimulate tissue contraction from the inside-out – creating a smooth, lifted, and sculpted appearance. This technology applies energy beneath the skin in a controlled and precise manner, causing a contraction effect that is gentle on tissue.
Renuvion Skin Tightening uses small entry points; resulting in smaller scars and a less invasive option to traditional surgical skin tightening options. This procedure can be done as a stand-alone treatment, however, the best results have been reported in conjunction with liposuction.
You may have learned (sometime in school) that there are three states of matter—solid, liquid, and gas. You may, however, have not have heard of the fourth state of matter known as plasma.
Plasma is another name for ionized gas, consisting of equal numbers of negatively charged electrons and ions. This gives the gas unique properties it might not otherwise have. Plasma is easily influenced by electromagnetic fields in a way that neutral gases are not.
Renuvion uses helium gas passed across an energized electrode. This creates a focused stream of low-current cold plasma, which can be used to tighten skin. Science – we love you! Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is well-documented within the medical community for its power to destroy bacterial cells as well as cancer. (We love you for that too!)
To determine if you are a good candidate for subdermal plasma, we will consult with you to discuss your skin tightening needs and expectations. Depending on your personal physiology, you may find that plasma skin tightening offers the results you’re after without the challenge of more invasive surgery. Your weight and age may also play a role in your eligibility.
Results vary from one patient to the next. For some patients, the result of Renuvion is very close to the results they would receive with liposuction, while others will only achieve most of the tummy tuck result. If you want to look younger and have tighter skin, but the idea of undergoing a complete tummy tuck is not for you, Renuvion skin tightening may be the alternative you’re looking for.
